Global Zip Code Validation

ZIP code validation is important for all countries. It is possible to validate a zip code for any country. For the United States, a valid ZIP code will have at least one decimal place. However, other countries may have a different system. Therefore, you should make sure that your method can handle both the five- and four-digit parts of the zip code. This way, you can ensure that your code is valid for all countries.

The algorithm works on a regular expression and applies it to a given country. Then it returns true or false depending on the length of the given string. The result is displayed on a graph in Listing 5-3. This is useful when you need to verify the format of a zip code. The process will take approximately a second for a simple search, but will be longer if a complicated address has many characters.

Another useful ZIP code validation tool is the Transformer plugin. It can help you validate the number of characters and validate the ZIP Code for all countries. You can create multiple regexes for different countries if you're generating them from third parties. A single country may be listed on the map, but the value for a ZIP code will be a combination of letters, numbers, and spaces. A country's postal code will not be valid for a specific country. This will lead to errors and invalid codes.
